Having fun

I have to share this.

Discovering the power of having fun. Even when we're doing serious things!

It seems (almost) obvious, but so often we fall into the trap of the mouse wheel. In everyday life, so much seems impossible, it's hard to understand where the exit is. How can we jump off the wheel without rolling down the road and taking everything with us, like a snowball on an avalanche day?

Well, I've been fighting with myself for years (already?!) trying to keep up my yoga practice. It's such an intense practice, with immense power, and it gets tiring at times. But I remain certain that it does me so much good. After understanding everything, or almost everything, on a mental and emotional level, the blockage was still there. Something was stopping me from making progress without outside help. Until suddenly I challenged everything. The body spoke and commanded. I put on the music that's saying the most good things to me at the moment, and I continued my yoga practice, dancing! Yes, dancing! I went through the postures to the rhythm that the music communicated to my body, staying in the breaths for as long as it felt right, and I kept going. And didn't I wake up again dying to practice? No, it's not like Guruji (rest in peace) thought. But I'm more than sure it's what my body and spirit are asking for right now. And if I already do so much yoga (much more than a sequence of postures) in my life, why not do this part as it pleases my essence? How it inspires, enlivens and uplifts me.

Less of what I have to do and more of what's good for me, please! And the others around me benefit? Absolutely!

May we all dance to each other's own beat. To the sound of what makes our unique light really shine! (Even if the dance is not of the body).

Let's have fun. And let the games begin!
